Alright Toss Boss Reds page, update the scoreboard and update the vibes: this was Game 2, and with the 2-0 shutout — the Reds just won the series in Texas.
Because yes—Game 1 was 5-3, and now it’s two straight in Arlington. The Rangers invited the Reds over and the Reds ate all the snacks, put their feet on the couch, and changed the channel.
Game 2: Reds 2, Rangers 0 — Texas’ Offense Went Ghost Mode
Texas had runners. Texas had chances. Texas also had zero runs, which is kind of a problem in a sport where the goal is, you know… scoring.
The Reds scored early and then spent the rest of the night doing that classic Cincinnati thing: “Here’s a lead—now let’s all clench together as a community.”
1st Inning: Elly Hit ‘Em With the “Good Evening”
The Reds jumped on Kumar Rocker like they had a coupon that expired after the first inning.
McLain gets on, then moves up on a wild pitch because Rocker apparently wanted to play “bonus baseball” without the bonus.
Elly De La Cruz singles to center, McLain scores. Elly is basically a cheat code with cleats.
Stewart follows with another RBI single and Elly scores. Cheat code activated.
2-0 Reds, and that was the final score, because Reds pitching said, “That’s plenty. We’re clocking out.”
Rhett Lowder: Calm, Cool, and Ruining Texas’ Night
Rhett Lowder went: 6.0 IP, 3 H, 0 ER, 4 K, 2 BB.
He wasn’t flashy — just annoyingly effective, like a guy who shows up to pickup basketball in dad shoes and still cooks everybody.
Texas tried to get something going and Lowder was like:“Respectfully… no.”
Bullpen: The “Don’t Touch My Lead” Crew
Ashcraft: locked it down.
Santillan: locked it down.
Pagán: loaded the bases just enough to give everyone a heart attack, then slammed the door anyway. Save secured.
Series: Won. Tomorrow: Sweep Season
Let’s recap:
Game 1: Reds 5, Rangers 3
Game 2: Reds 2, Rangers 0
Series: Reds win it in Texas
Tomorrow: chance to sweep
Reds. Brooms. Tomorrow. Let’s finish the sweep!
