BREAKING: Eagles Put Jalen Hurts on Injured Reserve

Saturday, October 17, 2026 — The Philadelphia Eagles placed quarterback Jalen Hurts on injured reserve Saturday afternoon, officially sidelining him for at least the next four games. It's a reversal from Saturday morning, when Adam Schefter and Ian Rapoport reported the Eagles had no plans to put Hurts on IR. After more consultations with doctors and experts throughout Saturday, the team changed course. Hurts has a superficial blood clot in his leg. The Eagles ruled him out for Sunday's game against Carolina on Thursday; now the IR move means he'll miss the Panthers, Cowboys, Commanders, and Giants games at minimum, with Week 11 (after the Week 10 bye) the earliest he can return. Tanner McKee starts tomorrow. Sources: Philadelphia Eagles (team announcement), ESPN's Adam Schefter, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, NBC Sports Philadelphia, USA Today, Sportsnet.
